Replacement Vehicle Entitlement
Should the contract vehicle break down and repairs cannot be completed by the patrol or agent within a reasonable time, a replacement vehicle may be provided for a limited period by the breakdown agency.
If the vehicle remains immobile beyond the period of hire allowed by the breakdown agency, please contact our Customer Service Department on 08707 520212 to establish whether your contract terms provide for extension of the hire.
If a replacement vehicle is required in any other circumstances, you will need to provide the following information:
- Name of your company
- Make, model and vehicle registration number
- Nature of fault
- Name of repairing garage and its telephone number
- A telephone number where you can be contacted
- An estimation of the time needed to carry out repairs
- It is the responsibility of the driver to return the replacement vehicle to its point of origin and to collect the contract car immediately upon completion. Please advise us as soon as this has taken place, so that our records may be kept up to date.
IMPORTANT: SHOULD YOU REQUIRE A HIRE CAR DUE TO AN ACCIDENT OR MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN AND YOUR CONTRACT DOES NOT INCLUDE A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE, OUR CAR HIRE DEPARTMENT MAY BE ABLE TO HELP YOU.

Rental company requirements
All rental companies require you to produce a valid driving licence prior to releasing any vehicle.
Most companies will require you to leave a deposit for a full tank of fuel, which is refundable if the car is returned with a full tank.
You will need to provide evidence to the rental company that your organisation provides comprehensive insurance cover for the replacement vehicle. In the event of any shortfall of cover, your organisation will be responsible for the costs involved in upgrading the cover.
Personal Accident and Collision Damage Waiver insurance cover is expressly at the expense of the driver or their organisation.
