Legal Responsibility
Road Fund Licences (Tax Discs)
All of our vehicles which require a tax disc will be supplied with one already in the vehicle at the point of delivery.
When this disc expires a new tax disc will automatically be sent out to you or your fleet administrator, (by recorded delivery).
If a tax disc is lost or stolen then please notify us immediately and we will obtain a duplicate disc from the DVLA, with an administration charge.
Ministry of Transport Test (MOT)
Your organisation will receive a reminder from Motiva Vehicle Contracts at least one month in advance of the due date. Please ensure that the vehicle is submitted without delay to either your usual servicing dealer or, alternatively, any MOT Approved test centre, and that the pass certificate is sent to Motiva Vehicle Contracts immediately, as this will be required to obtain the Road Fund Licence.
If a pass certificate has not been obtained by the due date, the vehicle must be taken off the road and not used under any circumstances, except for the journey to a pre-arranged MOT appointment.
Parking and Speeding Fines
The prompt settlement of parking fines is the direct responsibility of the driver. If payment is not made by the due date, the issuing authority will send a final demand to Motiva Vehicle Contracts.
These notices are paid immediately and your organisation will be invoiced together with an administration charge.
If you are contesting a fine, please notify Motiva Vehicle Contracts in writing within five days, so that we can return the final notice to the issuing authority.
Congestion Charging
Please ensure when intending to enter a congestion charging zone that the appropriate payment is made before the due deadline.
Should any penalties arise through non-payment, Motiva Vehicle Contracts will pass these on to your organisation, plus an administration fee.
Copies of any documentation received or sent in connection with any appeal should be retained until the matter has been finalised.
